As a Senior Engineer on the Platform team at Certain Affinity, you will be responsible for developing and owning services and infrastructure that support crypto-powered games. You will build inter-protocol blockchain systems to serve the infrastructural needs of application-level developers. You will work with members of the Platform team to create state-of-the-art software to handle millions of players in a fun and seamless game experience. This position is a unique opportunity to make a big impact working with a small team on cutting-edge blockchain networks around games.
Responsibilities
- Create, optimize, and maintain online services consumed by both internal and external customers
- Build infrastructure and eliminate work through automation
- Identify tools and approaches that will reduce complexity
- Be an advocate for code quality and best practices
- Interact with game teams and stakeholders to best understand their needs
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the fields of Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
- Programming experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Go, C/C++, Rust, Python, Java)
- Experience building, operating, and solving problems with microservices
- Familiar with CI/CD practices
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Comfortable synthesizing technical and non-technical objectives
- A systematic and detail-oriented problem-solving approach

Extra Credit
- Prior experience with blockchain technologies
- Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems
- Contributor to open-source projects
- Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with cloud computing systems (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
