Senior Backend Programmer

Your Mission in Funcom

As a senior backend programmer at Funcom, you will work with a team of highly skilled programmers on ambitious projects. You will be designing solutions and implementing and integrating various backend features, and you will be working on internal backend products to lead them to high quality standards.

As a part of the backend programming team, you will collaborate with tools developers, gameplay developers and designers, in multidisciplinary strike teams working towards completing a set of features. You will be expected to solve challenges and contribute to delivering high-quality features within the established milestones.

How you can have an impact in your position:

• Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
• Create and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code.
• Develop backend services using Microsoft Azure.
• Use Microsoft Azure to its full potential for the project's requirements.
• Connect the game client with the backend services using C++.
• Develop and test code, fix bugs, profile and optimize code.
• Collaborate with team members to develop various backend and tools features.

Additional duties include assisting with quality control of all products.

We are looking for someone that has:

• 4+ years of experience as a backend programmer. Knowledgeable in backend concepts and techniques
• Intermediate C# skills
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or equivalent experience
• Experience with messaging queueing Pub/sub or RMQ
• Experience working in PC
• Fluency in English
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and .NET framework
• Knowledge in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery processes
• Game Development experience (UE4/5) is a plus
• Basic C++ skills
