Server Engineer - Orbital (Remote)

We are nDreams, an award-winning independent developer and publisher, delivering world-leading interactive VR experiences. nDreams Studio Orbital is looking for talented people to help pioneer development in live service games for VR that will entertain players for years. THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented, disciplined software engineer ready to join the team here at Orbital. If you’re someone who loves learning and isn’t afraid of new challenges, you will thrive with us. Together, we will build innovative online VR experiences to share with the world!

Our ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of professional experience working as an online services developer in the game industry, or equivalent experience in other industries.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Create and maintain scalable game servers and services hosted in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Collaborate with the team to plan development tasks that will realize a shared creative vision.
• Develop and integrate online technologies that enable multiplayer experiences in VR.
• Build and integrate scalable APIs that connect players around the world.

Requirements

• Experience and understanding of modern live-service infrastructure used in game development.
• Broad working knowledge of online services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud-cost estimation.
• An active interest in a broad range of development technologies & platforms, such as:
• AWS, Linux, Windows, Android, C#, C++, Python, OAuth, and Network Security.
