What We’re Looking For:
The Senior Auditor is a member of the internal audit department’s business financial operations pillar and delivers on the mission of enhancing and protecting organizational value by executing risk-based and objective assurance and advisory services for the company’s Revenue and Operations organizations. This role is responsible for executing on the strategy laid out by the department for assessing financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks and controls. The ideal candidate will have worked in an internal audit department of a successful high growth company and can bring those experiences to Skillz as it continues to define the future of esports and mobile gaming. The role reports to the Manager of Internal Audit.
What You Will Do :
- Execute on the assurance and advisory strategy over Skillz’ financial, operational, and compliance risks, including evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls in a rapidly changing environment
- Partner with, build relationships, and manage horizontally across the Revenue and Operations organizations, as well as Internal Audit Department’s IT operations pillar, to optimize internal audit's effectiveness in enhancing company's governance, risk, and controls
- Perform testing over the design and operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting
- Document audit procedures and results in accordance with department audit methodology and Institute of Internal Audit Standards
- Evaluate and monitor the remediation of business operational audit engagement findings and SOX control deficiencies
- Support Manager as a point person for horizontal Revenue and Operations organization peers and collaboration with external auditors
- Assist in the implementation and rollout of governance, risk, and control software
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the internal audit department infrastructure, including methodology and policies and procedures
- Be future-focused on continuous improvement of the department along the internal audit maturity curve
Your Skillz:
- 2.5-5 years of work experience scaling internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, preferably in or servicing the technology or interactive media industry
- 1+ years of supervisory experience leading teams
- Public accounting/audit experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in an accounting field
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA)
- Proficient with the Google Workplace and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, & PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
