Your mission
We are Vertigo Games, the largest VR developer in the world and part of the Embracer Group, the largest group of developers in the world. As our Rotterdam Studio kicks off development on our new AAA VR projects, we are looking to recruit an expressive and experienced asset artistwho can aid us in our mission!
As a asset artistat Vertigoyou will works alongside with environment artists and level designers to craft detailed assets that meet the needs of the environment and the player experience. You possess a strong artistic eye on how to create high quality game ready assets within the guidelines and technical specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create game-ready art assets according to guidelines and technical specifications.
- Proactively work with the leads and art director to ensure consistent quality and style.
- Closely co-operate with environment artists and level designers to craft detailed assets.
- Identify potential performance bottlenecks, address them ahead of time and when they crop up.
- Co-ordinate with leads and production to maintain a clear and consistent view on planning.
- Mentor more junior artists in industry best practices and personal growth.
Your profile
- 5+ years of professional experience in game development with an agile team
- Worked on and shipped at least 2 game title ( preferably AAA )
- Experienced in creating optimized in-game art assets including hard surface and organic models
- Understanding of modularity of assets used in games including trim sheets and construction sets
- Experience with Blender, Zbrush, Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter and Designer
- Strong traditional art fundamentals e.g. color, proportions and shapes
- Experience and understanding of content creation and optimization
- Understanding of modern materials and shaders
- You are organized and forward thinking
- You can adapt to different visual styles
- You are eager to work on-site
Bonus points for
- Affinity and experience with VR games
- Experienced with tracking software (Jira)
- Experience with VFX e.g. Unity particle systems
- Understanding of shader blueprints in Unity
- Knowledge of Python and/or C#
- Experience with Unity
