SUMMARY OF POSITION
Pixelberry Studios is looking for an ambitious, self-driven, talented Senior Artist with a mastery of art fundamentals, insightful visual taste, able to adapt to a multitude of styles and genres, excellent communication skills, and has advanced painting skills and knowledge of evolving creative tools. The ideal candidate will be flexible, capable, and willing to take on multiple tasks while working in a team-collaborative environment.
Our headquarters is in Mountain View, CA but we can accommodate a remote work environment for a candidate from the following states: CA, OR, WA, and NV.
Currently, all Pixelberry staff are working remotely. Hybrid work model (1 day/week in-office) will be in place once we resume on-site operations, currently scheduled for January 2022.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Associate AD and AD to establish and support a look of a project.
- Deliver clear feedback to external vendors through paintovers, detailed notes, and references.
- Create and document style guides with the Associate AD and AD to create new and exciting methods to streamline new art styles and production.
- Create concept art and designs for a variety of projects such as characters and backgrounds, illustration.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Mentor and support junior artists.
- Collaborating with art producers, producers, and other project leads on various issues and deadlines.
- Occasionally contribute background art by providing alterations to existing art.
- Implementing art into our internal tools system.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, Art School or equivalent with significant relevant coursework.
- Advanced proficiency in Photoshop as a painter and photo manipulation for characters and backgrounds.
- Fundamental art skills and knowledge in drawing, anatomy, color theory, composition, perspective and design.
- Adaptable in multiple art styles such as illustrated realism, anime, cartoon, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and can excel in a collaborative team environment.
- Able to be productive, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision and strong organizational skills.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude towards team building.
