Senior Artist - Studio Orbital (Remote within UK)

We are looking for a talented senior artist who is an expert in 3D content creation. You would use your significant knowledge in games art to become the go-to person for different areas of the game’s development, including characters, creatures and organic lifeforms.
You will help mentor some amazing junior artists and will get to work collaboratively across the project to ensure amazing artwork is professionally presented and brought to life.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Working with the art director to embody the artistic vision of the project.
- Creating unique and varied content that captures charm and personality of our projects.
- Constructing content from block-out to final in-game asset, whilst considering the framework, limitations, and design.
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the art team through reviews and feedback.
- Verifying art in VR and making improvements where necessary to fit technical limitations and artistic direction.
- Contributing to areas of the project such as plant life, creatures, products, customisations, and props.
- Contributing to other areas of the project when possible - such as marketing artwork & 2D asset creation.
Requirements
Who Are We Looking For?
- Experience of high and low polygon modelling, sculpting and a good knowledge of PBR material workflow via software packages such as Maya, Z-Brush, Substance, and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of implementing art in Unreal or similar game engines.
- Experience achieving simplistic artwork on more constrained devices (such as mobile), with an understanding of platform limitations, memory, and performance.
- A good grasp of art and design fundamentals (including anatomy, texture, colour, and depth theories).
- Working knowledge of industry standard project management tools and source control software.
- A passion for video games, art, and commitment to personal development.
- A creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Positive and outgoing personality with a can-do attitude and be able to adapt based on feedback.
- A true team player, able to work collaboratively as a part of a multidiscipline team with the initiative, drive, and organisation skills to deliver excellent results on time.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment and responsive to change in the face of uncertainty.
- Interest in the VR market and the latest gameplay innovations.
