AppLovin is looking for a Strategy Lead to join our highly active Corporate Development and Strategy team. Over the past 3 years, the team has led over $2 billion in transactions with app developers, gaming studios and technology companies. In this role, you will deep dive into new markets and technologies to inform strategies that leverage AppLovin’s scale and drive long term growth. You should be an enthusiastic team-player who is proactive, naturally curious and always hungry to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new markets, technologies, platforms and business models (including buy vs. build decisions) while leveraging AppLovin’s scale and platform
- Research opportunities and use your learnings to help educate AppLovin’s executives and team leaders
- Identify market participants and build relationships with entrepreneurs, executives, investment banks and strategic partners
- Develop conviction in the most promising opportunities and persuade internal stakeholders using data and analyses to support your point of view
- Lead the evaluation of potential partnerships, investments and acquisitions, including high-level modeling, diligence and deal execution
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience, with at least 2 years in a strategy role (management consulting, product management, corporate development, venture capital, etc.)
- Analytical and commercial mindset with an ability to size markets and identify attractive segments within a value chain
- Proactive problem solving capabilities and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Experience prospecting and building relationships with potential targets or clients
- High level of written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate complex concepts; English is required
- Must be flexible with the schedule, including traveling internationally for meetings and work in the evenings due to time difference with international partners; evening work can be done remotely
- Comfortable working in a fast pace environment with little oversight, where priorities shift quickly
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, or Accounting; or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven interest in technology. Whether you learned to code at 12, have a world record in a VR game, or bought bitcoin in 2015
- Multi-lingual (Mandarin and Russian are a strong plus)
- Coding or other technical experience is a strong plus
- Having worked at or founded a start-up is a plus. We’re always looking for people who were key contributors in a fast paced environment, even if their company failed!
