Senior Accountant

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring transactions are accurately entered, reconciling balance sheet accounts, documenting business processes to maintain and improve internal controls, and most importantly, being someone that can help drive improvements and efficiency throughout the finance function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process semi-monthly and special payroll. From input to disbursement, coordinate with outside payroll vendor and answer employee questions related to recording time and other payroll related matters.
• Reconcile employee spending on corporate credit card to monthly statement, coding, and enter/post entries in accounting system.
• Process expense reports in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with company policy
• Obtain proper approval, code, and enter vendor invoices, keeping track of invoice due dates and process weekly check run.
• Daily cash reporting, prepare/enter all cash entries and assist with weekly 13-week cash forecast.
• Customer invoicing
• Process Purchase order for Outside Contractor services and fixed assets purchases
• Prepare and enter month-end close entries.
• Bank reconciliations and accounts analysis
• Assist with property tax filings, preparation and filing of business license census bureau, and other miscellaneous regulatory reporting.
• Assist in preparing schedules for income tax return.
• Maintaining General Journals and prepare related statements and reports.
• GAAP research and assist with system conversion as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish company and department objectives.
