We are a crowdfunded company and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. We want to build the best we can deliver and we believe wholeheartedly in the value of exceptional diverse talent. The AI Design Team designs and implements the creatures and NPCs that populate both Star Citizen and Squadron 42. AI designers define behaviours and interactable entities that control how the AI interacts with players and the game environment. We aim to achieve a level of detail never seen before in a video game. Our current focus is to bring players fresh and convincing life forms based on our game diverse locations, rich lore, and challenging environmental conditions. What does an AI Designer at CIG do? Take ownership of the AI driven gameplay experiences from concept to release. Design and implement AI behaviours for both combat and social gameplay. Create entities that the AI creatures and NPCs will interact with in the game. Prototype and previsualize new AI behaviours and interactable entities. Collaborate with the AI Engineering and Animation Teams on AI behaviour implementation. Work with content teams to populate the game. Attend motion capture sessions and ensure that performance capture matches the design intent. What do we ask for? A passion for developing AI creatures and NPCs. An appreciation for how our competitors create AI and how they work. Knowledge of visual scripting tools such as Unreal Blueprint. Affinity for 3D game editors and tools. Experienced in solving technical game development problems. Eagerness to hear feedback and willingness to iterate on a design. An absolute passion for gaming!
