Captured Dimensions (a subsidiary of Gearbox Entertainment) is looking for a 3D Scanning Technician to join our Scanning Services team!
This is a full-time position that will be split between local work at our Frisco offices and remote work at client locations. If you love traveling and being involved in exciting production environments, this is the job for you. The Scanning Technician will be responsible for all parts of the scanning process, from location scouting to lidar, structured light, and photogrammetry scanning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Scanning Work:
· Travel to client locations for various kinds of scanning needs
· Assess locations, props, and characters to plan out effective scanning methodologies.
· Communicate effectively with clients to ensure needs are met
· Operate and troubleshoot lidar, structured light, and photogrammetry equipment to ensure the highest quality and consistency in data capture
· Direct talent for human scanning sessions
· Participate in making repairs and improvements to hardware and scanning pipelines
Internal Project Work:
· Work to source physical assets, scanning location, and talent for source content for various Captured Dimensions and Gearbox projects
· Maintain database of scanned assets and resources for use in future projects
· Backup and maintain data storage for project data
· Provide support input on R&D work
REQUIREMENTS
· 2+ years of on set Film/Television work or AAA video game development
· Be proactive and self-driven
· Be a team player that values working together to accomplish a common goal
· Constructively communicate with others
· Be willing to travel, sometimes on short notice, to a variety of locations and provide excellent service to clients
· Be able to work with A-list celebrity talent with professionalism and discretion
· Be willing to work in a variety of circumstances and schedules (outdoors in hot and cold, long shifts, etc.)
