Research Moderator - User Research Laboratory (1 year contract)

Job Description
In collaboration with the analysts and other moderators, the Moderator is responsible for the collection and compilation of data for studies conducted by the User Research Laboratory. The Moderator will also recruit study participants according to pre-established profiles, and provide administrative support to the studies.
This person will also be expected to actively contribute to the Laboratory's ongoing reflection on improving its research methods and processes.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the recruitment of participants according to a target profile;
- Validate the technical aspect of the user tests (multiplayer connections, stability of the versions used, etc.);
- Ensure the observation of the participants;
- Review game experience questionnaires and conduct individual interviews with participants;
- Participate in debriefing session with analyst to report daily observations;
- Assist with data compilation and entry;
- Manage paper or digital archives (Confidentiality Agreement, reward sheets, etc.);
- Update participant databases;
- Set up and clean up playtest rooms;
- Perform all other related tasks.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- Training in Cognitive Psychology, User Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Ergonomics, Marketing Research, or other relevant training/experience;
- Computer knowledge (software and hardware);
- Experience in project coordination is an asset;
- Experience and minimal knowledge of user research;
- Knowledge of the video game industry (major players and products);
- Excellent communication skills;
- Very good knowledge of Word and Excel;
- Technical understanding of the different video game platforms;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Autonomous and resourceful (able to find solutions to technical problems of tested versions);
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once;
- Empathy;
- Good command of spoken and written English and French.
