Rendering Artist

Job Description
The Rendering Artist works hand in hand with the Lighting departments across the shows within one production site to improve rendering quality and efficiency.
On the day to day, the Rendering Artist monitors lighting jobs on Tractor, analyzes, and provides feedback and solutions when jobs fail or exceed render time forecast.
The Rendering Artist works closely with Lighting Supervisors to optimize processes within Katana/Arnold and will potentially take over on some scenes to implement direct optimization solutions.
The rendering artist reports to the Rendering Manager and will work with Lighting departments, Technical Directors, and Technology Resource Management team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, check, flag or troubleshoot Lighting renders
- Analyze render logs in detail
- Report to Lighting and CG supervisor potential issues, anticipate optimization for sequences based on keyshots renders
- Interact with productions to report large shot volume that exceed forecast
- Help CG supervisors fine tuning jobs priorities to support production priority plan and milestone weeks
Qualifications
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in 3D rendering and rendering time optimization, preferably with Arnold.
- Comfortable with computer tools and the Linux operating system.
- Knowledge of the Animation workflow.
- Knowledge of Maya, Nuke, Katana, Houdini is a plus.
- Dynamic, pro-active, desirable of troubleshooting renders.
- Professional English required.

- You have a knowledge of Python.
