R&D Process Engineering TechnicianMagic LeapAustin, TX25 days agoApplySaveJob Description In this position you will be a member of the Eyepiece Process R&D team and will be heavily involved in R&D, engineering, and substrate preparation activities. This position will be responsible for coordinating requests and maintaining daily substrate/sample stocks. The candidate will assist engineers in a wet chemical lab environment with execution of experiments and prototype substrate and chemical compatibility testing. The candidate will perform detailed wafer characterization and monitoring using defect inspection tools, contact angle verification, and optical interferometry. Executing set procedures and reporting accurate data related to process development and troubleshooting are mandatory . Candidates must be highly innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, dynamic and creative environment within a multidisciplinary team. Physical Requirements/Work Environment This position primarily works in a Class 100 cleanroom environment + a wet chemical lab with acid, ultrasonic, and surface treatment equipment. The employee must be able to suit up and wear cleanroom attire for extended periods. The ability to manually handle glass and Si-type substrates + operate equipment and metrology tools is essential.Required Qualifications:Hands-on semiconductor/micro or nano-fabrication or related experience, preferably in a clean room environment (with manual wafer handling).Experience in using manual, semi-automated or automated tools and equipment.Experience working with chemicals, using microscopy & surface analysis techniques.The ability to record processes and record project details (spreadsheet + web based).The ability to collect, summarize and communicate data accurately in detailed reports and provide regular verbal updates.Ability to follow written and verbal directions to work with minimal supervision.Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.Desired Qualifications:Experience with Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) tools and processes.Experience within a wet chemical environment- typically obtained working with acids, wet etch, or industrial wafer cleaning/surface coating.Understanding around photolithography + thin-films processing.Ability to analyze and visualize data using JMP/MiniTab/SpotfireCompile data into reports for communication within process group and across teams.Ability and desire to learn new processes, evaluate new methods, improve data monitoring and collection tasks.Experience interacting with vendors, process engineers, and equipment support staff, to solve tool/process-related issues.Education and Experience:Associates degree with minimum 3 years experience or bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years experience.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location.
