Quality Designer II (Test Automation) - Respawn

Respawn is looking for a Test Automation Engineer with a focus in the technical space to join an established, experienced team working on Apex Legends. You will work with the Foundations (systems), Rendering, and automation teams to ensure the quality of feature releases, the use of automation/tools, and identify project risks.
You will promote software & game quality by maturing end-to-end strategies that ensure comprehensive and impactful test design, bringing together approaches to verification across functional, experiential, and technical elements of quality. You are focused on technical areas of software use technology to multiply effort and expand use of test automation. You may also have varying competence of Machine Learning (ML) & Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled autotests. You will report to the Development Manager.
Responsibilities:
You will:
- Design and evolve test strategies by looking into historical data, working with test experts, and communicating with developers.
- Plan test execution by working with Feature Group managers and testing teams.
- Work with Feature Group managers to establish milestone acceptance criteria and hold partners accountable.
- Analyze existing test automation and tools to identify automation opportunities for the Foundations and Rendering team.
- Collaborate with our automation team on their tools and platform to partner and understand our team’s automation needs.
- Work with our Development team and technical directors to understand the code risk to fixes or new feature implementation and translate that code risk into test coverage or automation opportunities.
- Help evolve the team’s processes with a focus on peer mentoring to expand the team’s capabilities and responsibilities.
- Collect data and feedback from test results and use that data to inform meaningful conclusions and driving recommendations and change.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance or applicable experience in technology fields
- In-depth knowledge of software/game development, including both Agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Computer Science (CS) degree or equivalent.
- Experience driving and contributing to discussions with senior discipline leaders.
- Experience with Back-end development or back-end development QA.
- Experience with test automation tools.
- Experience working with medium-to-large-scale teams and distributed peers.
- Experience with bug prevention and containment strategies.
- Defect and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, JAAS, Github).
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $89,300 - $123,000 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
