Quality Control Project Manager — Mobile Games

Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and guiding one or several testing teams while ensuring the effective management of resources through their QC team leads. They must satisfy the targeted quality standards while fulfilling production team objectives. They will be required to intervene in different stages of production. The QC Project Manager must also be continuously involved in developing the Quality Control studio within Ubisoft.

What you'll do

• Help plan and implement the action plan, including human resource management.
• Ensure the implementation of the bug tracking tool (JIRA – BDB).
• Gather information from design documents to establish and build suitable test cases for product testing.
• Implement work processes standards and naming conventions.
• Keep team members informed on project objectives, strategies, and other project-specific details.
• Monitor work progress and task distribution within their team (team leads and team members) for the deliverables they are responsible for and follow up on the bug tracking system with other team managers.
• Manage risks with other team managers.
• Support career development and offer team members interpersonal and technical skill development and training opportunities.
• Help resolve strategic problems that the QC team might encounter throughout the project.
• Take part in subcontracting.
• Develop and optimize the team's work processes.
• Comply with and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Participate in the processes and mechanisms that promote technology transfer and testing best practices between the studios' team leads and project managers.

Qualifications

What you bring

• A college diploma in management or quality assurance (or related training)
• 5 years of experience in quality control, including 3 years working in project management as a team lead (or other relevant experience)
• Knowledge of quality control concepts for mobile platforms (Android, Apple)
• Beta and post-launch testing experience in sandbox and live environments
• Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
• An understanding of the video game development process and game design rules applied to platform games
• Familiarity with tools used in production (Editor, Max, Perforce, Jira, etc.)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
