QA Lead (Platform & Web)

The Web & Platform QA Lead will work with cross functional teams as well as the Platform Manager and Platform/Web PM to identify test strategies, guidelines and success criteria. The ideal candidate is well versed in testing, documenting and supporting HTML/CSS/JavaScript based web interfaces, understands what test resources are available and how to properly assign them to accommodate project deadlines and ensure a quality product is released. Additionally, they will be able to provide concise and detailed feedback, are a methodical thinker and an avid gamer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Web & Platform QA testing team, identifying testing strategies and assigning resources based upon need and current Sprint initiatives
- Ensure that Manager and PM are kept updated on project statuses, risks and solutions
- Monitor the work of testers to ensure quality and efficiency and routinely provide feedback
- Attend meetings as a representative of Web and Platform QA
- Review all web content for ease of use, reliability, consistency and absence of defects
- Review, write and execute test plans to ensure full testing coverage
- Review and keep all relevant testing documentation up to date and available to all testers
- Support projects impacting both marketing site and platform initiatives
- Promptly bring documented critical issues and concerns to the attention of the Manager/PM
- Prioritize daily operational tasks required to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Work closely with the development teams
- Log bugs in the defect tracking software
- Assign bugs to development teams as appropriate
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years working in an internal QA capacity
- 5+ years of Web or Platform Quality experience
- 2+ years of supervising other QA testers including assigning tasks, ensuring those tasks are met and communicating task completion and issues as they arise
- Strong knowledge and practical use of various Web tools, including but not limited to using Developer Console in various browsers, Fiddler, use of HOSTS files
- Strong familiarity with multiple internet browsers including Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge and Safari
- Strong understanding of how billing platforms work including account creation, login and purchase flows.
- Familiarity with Mobile and responsive website testing
- Ability to proactively analyze, identify and communicate problems effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing
- Familiarity with MS Office products
- Familiarity with PC gaming and multiplayer online gaming including experience with the current generation of MMO and MOBA titles
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, team environment
- Self-motivated with the ability work on multiple complex tasks with minimal direct supervision
- Passionate about software quality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
