The Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for validation of software requirements, functional and nonfunctional, identifying and reporting defects and reporting on the quality software under test for our Web Technologies team.

- You can evaluate requirements and generate acceptance criteria, test cases and test passes for assigned features.
- You have a basic knowledge of scripting to automate testing and would love to improve your knowledge and skills in this area.
- You are a gamer and want to be a part of making a great overall experience for customers.
What You Will Do:
- Perform software testing on web applications, web components, and company websites on a variety of hardware and web browsers utilizing Gray and Blackbox testing methods.
- Participate in development sprints and attend team standup meetings as required.
- Collaborate closely with developers, designers and product owners to understand new or existing features and develop acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are met.
- Author test cases, test passes, execute test passes and report the outcomes.
- Identify bugs, their root cause, and seeks out potential solutions.
- Identify problems, proposes solutions to stakeholders, and works with them to identify trade-offs.
- Work autonomously as test area owner for a feature or set of features. Manage the bug backlog, risk identification, escalation and outward communications on quality for the features.
- Advocate for quality best practices within areas of ownership, promote quality best practices within your team.
- Identify areas for automated testing using scripting. Use existing skills, or as a plus, upskill yourself to contribute to automation efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in a Quality Assurance Engineer role with a focus on testing web technologies.
- A working knowledge of the composition of a web app such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the role of each part.
- Hands on experience performing compatibility testing using different web browsers and hardware devices such as phones, tablets and PCs.
- Basic knowledge and/or hands on using scripting, a test framework or tool to perform automated testing of a web page.
- A good working knowledge of test management software, programming languages, and QA methodologies.
- Good verbal, instant messaging, email communication skills.
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test specs and test cases.
- Understanding of functional and nonfunctional testing and can articulate the differences.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Be open to receiving constructive feedback and turning it into process improvements.
- Be willing to help your teammates, share your knowledge with them, and learn from them
Bonus Points:
- Experience testing for localization readiness is a plus.
- Experience testing for accessibility is a plus.
- Experience using the web browser developer tools in bug root cause investigations is a plus.
