Publishing QA Tester

Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a Publishing QA Tester to join a brand new team, based in our Liverpool studio. You'll be working with developers, release managers and other cross functional teams across all of our self publishing divisions and products, operating as part of an important function in the quality assurance process.
As a Publishing QA Tester at Avalanche Studios Group, your primary responsibility will be providing all self published titles with compliance testing, consultancy and testing support. To ensure projects are developing with compliance in mind to meet the desired levels of quality during development and live service, prior to submitting for certification with our platform partners.
You will also work closely with the project stakeholders and outsource partners to provide a range of test services to our project teams and act as subject matter experts to mitigate risk and identify issues before projects and content are released to the community.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Compliance Testing and Support - Exceptional awareness of Sony TRC’s and/or Microsoft XR’s and/or Nintendo Guidelines
- Release Candidate Testing - Final candidate testing prior to submission
- Team Communication - Update project Stakeholders and outsource partners on testing status, risks and solutions to mitigate risks to projects.
- Strong Individual Contributor / Team Work - Proactive and able to take ownership of your workloads, whilst supporting the Publishing QA Manager in continually improving the services and assisting with documentation creation and maintenance.
- Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expertise - Proven track record within a publishing environment in the area of quality assurance & platform compliance
- Outsource QA Vendors - Support and collaborate with our outsource partners as an extension of the team to fulfill and meet testing needs
- Online Testing - Support project QA with max server testing
Desired Qualities
- Ability to bring new ideas to the team and provide solutions to problems
- Excellent communication skills across teams and cultures
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and tools, video game testing standards, and the video game development cycle
- Experience in testing full games and live product(s) with frequent release cycles combined with a strong knowledge and expertise of technical certification requirements
- Passion for games, the industry and next-generation technology across multiple platforms
- Interest and knowledge of Compatibility testing
- Interest and knowledge of Accessibility testing
- Interest in computer hardware, network and online testing
