Who we're looking for:
You are a highly-organized, enthusiastic program manager with exceptional communication skills and a demonstrable talent for project management. The act of planning excites you; organization and efficiency make you squeal with glee. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, always follows-up, and enjoys working within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do:
- Be the dedicated program/project manager for the Enterprise Systems Team responsible for all corporate IT infrastructure.
- Manage both program/project performance (e.g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service levels) and financial performance (e.g., business case) expectations.
- Actively manage the assigned resources and external vendor(s) in the execution of Enterprise Systems project tasks (e.g., business requirements, functional spec, use cases).
- Establish and maintain appropriate business relationships with IT Infrastructure, Business Operations, and stakeholders. Act as focal point for assigned Enterprise project-related activities.
- Maintain awareness and oversight of project activities to ensure a timely resolution of project execution issues, including changes in scope, quality/reliability issues, and resource constraints. Responsible for project sponsor satisfaction with project delivery and functionality.
- Responsible for ensuring Enterprise Systems projects follow Skillz’s standard project development methodology and that the project conforms to Skillz defined standards for security and technical architecture.
- Contribute to the creation of project plans, documentation, and requirements for projects
- Act as a key contact for your team, document decisions, and facilitate communication between internal departments to remove potential roadblocks before they before problems
- Coordinate and follow-up on tasks and assignments within the product and engineering teams
- Own project timelines, expectations, milestones, and deliverables for your projects
- Run and participate in a wide variety of meetings related to your teams responsibilities
- Collaborate with teammates who care about building great products as much as you do
Your Skillz:
- 6+ years of work experience in program management roles
- 1+ year of people management experience
- Four year degree (or a great reason why you don't have one)
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and execute within a high-pressure environment
- Adaptable to changing project requirements and business needs
- Capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to motivate, encourage, persuade, increase cooperation and reduce tension among team members
- Experience working across different product development methodologies
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, you should be comfortable speaking directly with engineers/designers on your team as well as presenting to C-level executives
- Extensive experience with JIRA, Gantt charts, and other well-known project management tools
