Product Researcher - 9 Month FTC
As a Product Researcher, you will be a constant advocate as we build a new suite of simulation software with complex challenges around data-ingestion, intuitive design, turn-based wargaming, mapping, simulation playback and more. The platform we are building leverages our two core competencies, distributed simulation and probabilistic machine learning in a brand new way.
Your Opportunity:
- Play a pivotal role, putting hyper-focus on our users (military tacticians, from junior to very senior).
- Embed the voice of the customer into our product as we build it, not just "add it in" later. We are at the early stages and you will be a key stakeholder in shaping production direction.
- Advocate for our unique, complex, and varied web of users; focusing on their needs and ensuring we're building an effective platform.
- Embed with the customer for a period of deep discovery.
- Expect a lot of user interviews and qualitative research design, conduct, analyze, and report results of user-centred design research and usability testing, with an emphasis on early-stage studies such as contextual interviews and uncovering existing user journeys.
- Lead and help facilitate collaborative workshops (internal and with customers) for a range of purposes (e.g., discovery, product scope and definition).
- Work closely with our Product team to provide quantitative and qualitative user insights directly into the product design and development process, and to prioritize research needs.
- Interact with key decision makers across the UK military and beyond and will be a key product feedback channel to improve our offering
Why You're Made for This:
- Broad Product/UX Research toolkit that can be applied to a range of features, users and products.
- Ability to nurture or significantly contribute to a product design strategy.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative workshops for a range of purposes, e.g., discovery, product scope and definition.
- Experience as a Product/UX Researcher or equivalent, preferably with experience at the early stages of product development.
- Experience building a Product Research strategy for a product or business; able to show how your work has contributed to the development of a product.
- Experience working closely with product, engineering and customer teams as a customer advocate & feedback channel.
