Product Manager - Unannounced Project

Bungie is seeking a Product Manager to support external partners working with the Destiny IP. In this role, you will drive alignment on monetization and retention designs that align with Bungie’s values and strategic goals. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will maintain the quality and consistency of the Destiny IP while giving our partners enough freedom to meet the needs of their players and market. In addition, the Product Manager works closely with the larger Publishing team to ensure success of the product and brand.
Reporting to the Principal Product Manager, and accountable to the Project Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help define key performance indicators and a pre-launch testing strategy to ensure the project meets its performance goals
- Ensure that monetization and retention designs align with Bungie’s and Destiny’s values
- Provide detailed feedback on design documents and live operations plans with a deep understanding of player experience and business impacts
- Help build out the revenue side of the financial model, working with leadership, demand planning, and finance
- Track and report product performance to key internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for growth, influence key stakeholders, and work with partners to drive initiatives to a successful outcome
- Build competitive analysis / case studies and market research
- Keep up to date with market trends and understand new strategies and tactics
- Support the Product Management team on projects for new and existing franchises
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to inform strategic and business decisions
- Experience building out and modifying complex financial and economic models
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills to partner with multiple teams including marketing, game development, and team leadership
- Passion for games and ability to understand and deconstruct what makes a successful live game
- Ability to work effectively across languages, locations, and cultures
- Willingness to shift core hours later as necessary to accommodate meetings with partner studios (typically 5-8 pm)
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Experience working with external partners preferred
- Experience working on a live game (“games as a service”) in mobile or AAA preferred
- Deep familiarity with Destiny and its online player communities is highly desired, as is experience with games as a service and MMOs
- Willingness to travel to China and host visits from partner teams on a regular cadence (likely every 2-3 months after restrictions are lifted)
- Chinese (Mandarin) language skills
Most Bungie employees and contractors will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective employees located outside of CA, FL, IL, NC, OR, TX, or WA will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date.
