Product Data Science Manager

As the Data Science Manager of the User Generated Content (UGC) team, you’ll be working on our most significant strategic initiative at the company. We want to enable creators to build high-quality rooms that get users coming back, and we want to provide players with whichever type of game they’re interested in. You’ll define the UGC DS research roadmap, partnering with the team leads to help shape our longer-term strategy and achieve these goals. You’ll drive our understanding around how we’re improving game quality, how we can better connect our creators with our users, and how to improve the tooling needed to build more engaging games.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Support data scientists focused on UGC across multiple teams, including the Maker Pen team, Logic & Circuits team, UGC Foundations, and Creator Academy.
- Partner with designers and engineers to define the DS research and understand the roadmap that can best inform short and long-term product strategy.
- Work with team leads on integrating A/B testing as part of the product development cycle
- Land some IC contributions, focusing on driving larger strategic projects to completion
- Define best practices and support and grow a high-quality, high-impact team
WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH THE FOLLOWING:
- 5+ years of product analytics experience, with substantial experience as a senior or principal IC in a user-facing product company
- 2+ years of experience in a management or tech lead role
- A track record of high-impact analyses that have led to strategic direction & product impact
- Deep familiarity with A/B testing
- Have a high level of proficiency in SQL (aggregate functions, window functions, complex joins, CTE)
- Working knowledge of R/python
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of various technical and non-technical backgrounds
COMPANY INFO TO KNOW:
The base pay range for this position is $138,750 - $231,250 per year; however, the base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, location, skills, and experience. Stock options and, in some cases, a sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. We also offer a full slate of benefits, including flexible vacation, medical, dental vision, life and disability coverage, long-term care insurance, FSA, commuter benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, and a parental leave program. We also offer some not-so-standard benefits, including equipment, family, and pet care stipends.
