Job Description:
The job of a product analyst (PA) is to contribute to the discovery and experimentation cycle, building insights to improve our understanding and decision making. The PA conducts analyses and makes clear recommendations on how to deliver value to our players and business. They collaborate closely with developers, data scientists, and operators, while forging strategic partnerships with product managers. This collaboration is pivotal in driving product innovation and enhancing our product's competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Data analysis and insights generation
- Conduct thorough data analysis using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to product performance and user behaviour
- Propose data-informed product changes or enhancements to improve user engagement and product performance
- Monitor product KPIs and user engagement metrics, identifying areas for improvement or optimization
- Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards for tracking product metrics, ensuring accuracy and relevance of the data presented
Experimentation
- Design, implement, and analyse A/B tests to evaluate the impact of changes to the product, features, or user experience, making recommendations based on test outcomes
- Monitor the performance of experiments and provide insights to optimise product features
Opportunity identification
- Support the product/feature maturity and delivery with evaluation, recommendations, and performance reporting
- Identify data-driven opportunities to support PMs and having experience with data/tech coordination and analysis
- Work on problems both with and without predefined solutions or operational guidelines
Documentation and knowledge sharing
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across Soda
- Document analytical processes, findings, and recommendations, ensuring knowledge is shared and accessible within the team and Soda
Desired requirements
- Hands-on experience with data analysis in a business or product context
- Demonstrable ability to extract, manipulate, and interpret large datasets, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations. This includes understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to product success
- Experience working with data using SQL and creating sophisticated queries
- Good understanding of statistics and the ability to interpret these with confidence to support recommendations
- Adept in visualisation tools with experience in information visualisation and presentation
- Experience working closely with product managers in product development, including the application of data analysis to inform the prioritisation of new features or enhancements to existing ones
- Ability to clearly articulate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including those without a technical background. This includes excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus skills
- Previous experience working with Looker
- Practical experience with an analytical programming language such as R or Python for data manipulation
- Knowledge of user research and design thinking principles
- Experience with roadmap planning, understanding how data analysis informs the prioritisation of new features or enhancements to existing ones
