About Squanch Games:
Since opening our doors in 2016, we've recruited a troop of the most hilariously unique talent the biz has to offer. We're constantly looking to expand our team of incredible people: They're crackin' some jokes, making awesomely strange stuff, and thinking outside the box simultaneously -- that's the "Squanch Factor" if you will.
At Squanch Games, we make dreams come true – the funkiest, bizarrest dreams from the depths of our souls. Real complex stuff, but you probably know what we’re talking about because you’ve already played our games, right? RIGHT? (Hint: YES).
If you see molds and like breaking them, or boxes and enjoy stepping outside of them–ONWARD! Also, if you love working remotely, we're the studio for you.
Think you've got what it takes? Go for it. Seriously! Send us your resume!
Producer
What you'll do:
As a Producer at Squanch Games, you’ll create production plans, move a team through their individual pipelines, and ship games! A qualified producer is organized, professional, courteous, hard-working, an effective communicator, and loves working with people. You’ll be the go-to for all things “how are we gonna ship this?” But you know that already! You’ve successfully done this role at another studio, and now you’re looking for a role with more freedom and creativity.
In this role, you will:
- Create a production plan (resource plan, scope breakdown, project delta dashboards, risk log, tracking towards established development periods/milestones, team roadmap) for your team to track progress.
- Partner with leadership to move a team’s work through the production pipeline, deliver multiple features or initiatives, and drive the team to meet goals/milestones.
- Be a representative for the studio working with partners, port houses, outsource and any other organization that impacts the development of a defined external product. You will work to keep these partners unblocked and supplied with any needed internal resources or support while communicating/summarizing progress and milestone status internally.
- Own a subset of the project i.e. Narrative / Gameplay end to end - from concept to ship to any post release needs.
- Learn to use & discuss the appropriate production methodology for the situation to ensure that the team has clarity in goals and the path to accomplishing them whether through agile, waterfall, etc.
- Identify and report on where your teams, features or an initiative stands using a mix of data & qualitative resources.
- Ship games! You have learned the particular nuances of submitting titles to one or more platforms and seek to document these processes for the betterment of the studio and your peers.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 2 shipped titles as an Associate Producer or Producer.
- Jira, Excel/Sheets and other comparable project management software experience.
- Thorough knowledge of game development pipelines, process, and constraints with a specialty working with one or more creative disciplines.
- Ability to identify problems (project, personnel, creative) and work with others to come up with creative solutions.
- Motivation, ambition & relentlessness to investigate, assess, and dive into the technical and emotional sides of project management.
- An autodidact and self-starter: Nobody has all the answers and you are excited to go looking for & find them.
- An effective translator from team to leadership.
- Sharp eye for detail and ability to break down large problems into manageable tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Benefits:
- Salary range: $75,000 to $115,000, depending on experience
- Health, dental & vision insurance
- Short term & long term disability insurance coverage
- Paid parental leave
- 401k and FSA
- Flexible PTO & schedule
- Completely remote studio
- Stipend to ensure a comfortable work from home setup
- Monthly snack box
- Monthly stipend for WFH expenses
Location:
We are a fully remote studio operating from all over the United States! While we haven't hit all 50, we encourage applicants from across the country to apply and help us complete our map.
