Producer, Mobile Games

The Producer, Mobile Games, manages the relationship with 1st party and external work-for-hire studios to guide, design and improve multiple games focusing on the monetization, engagement, and retention of players.
The producer organizes feedback around design, features, and functionality ensuring project success. They will work with internal and external artists to ensure success and vision in the project style. This result is achieved through strong partner relationships and deep data analysis to understand a game’s performance, its viability as a business, and its ability to scale.
The producer will work with several departments at Kongregate as well as external partners to improve and grow the portfolio of games.
This position requires independent decision making with regular supervisory oversight in the areas of developer communication and overall product direction and health.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple games and relationships with internal and work-for-hire studios
- Lead game projects through development, test markets and post-launch live servicing with regular managerial oversight throughout
- Hold design and progress milestone reviews ensuring successful outcomes
- Prioritize and allocate Kongregate resources to support the best ROI for your titles
- Communicate directly with game teams on a regular cadence to ensure the best outcome for the business
- Identify, track, and report meaningful performance/progress metrics, and support the team with achieving performance goals
- Help identify new business opportunities, be it new games, new platforms, new businesses, or more

- Project Management: Ensuring projects are delivered on time and of high quality. Ability to manage project roadmaps and coordinate with development teams and internal departments to ensure the creative vision and timeline is maintained throughout development. Consult with multiple stakeholders to define requirements and implement online and offline features. Able to manage individual titles and an entire portfolio of games.
- Game Mechanics: Understanding of gameplay mechanics, monetization systems, UI design, and other aspects of a game's core design. Ability to deconstruct internal and external games and apply best practices and trends to the portfolio
- Team Management: Maintaining a strong presence within both the Production group and the broader company. Is able to analyze a situation and troubleshoot solutions and improvements to the org. Helps others with ongoing career development.
- Decisiveness: Making and taking responsibility for, and demonstrating a commitment to appropriate decisions in a timely manner. Ensuring that decisions are made based on policies and organizational directives and that they are solving the emerging problems.
Basic and Preferred Qualifications (Education and/or Experience)
- 3+ years of experience as Producer / Product Manager for successful mobile or social games
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for computer science, statistics, mathematics or economics

- A passion for games
- Proficient understanding of Free-to-Play games and broader market trends
- Proficient problem-solving skills with a unique ability to look at large data sets and formulate conclusions
- Ability to organize, track, and document complex projects
- Working ability to create wireframes and product specifications
- Proficient written and oral communication skills and ability to work with creative partners
- Working ability to focus on multiple projects in parallel while meeting changing deadlines and priorities
- Self-starter, able to work independently and in groups
