You have a passion for video gaming that equals your passion for developing great creative. You have a proven track record for overseeing and developing creative concepts for display assets supporting user acquisition efforts, and app store optimization. In short, you are experienced in driving engagement, as well as knowledgeable in driving successful Apple and Google Play storefront conversion.
We are seeking a Principal Graphic Designer that will take the lead for concepting and creating consumer-facing creative in support of our mobile and PC games, including DISNEY Mirrorverse, MARVEL Contest of Champions and Shop Titans mobile games. You’ll work with a talented and passionate in-house Growth Creative video team, the ASO managers, and a number of outside creative agencies and freelancers.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Own the visual design and creative executions in support of User Acquisition efforts and managing design for App Store Product Pages (ASO). As the expert in the graphic design discipline, you will manage external partners to bring creative strategy execution for all static graphic design needs
- Partner with the Growth Media team and the Creative Strategist in creating and designing user-facing creative that results in high consumer engagement and acquisition
- Develop creative briefs, consult with Creative Strategist, and present creative concepts to brand marketing and executive stakeholders
- Commission and manage outside resources to scale work volume. This includes managing illustrators, localization teams, design/ad agencies, etc. While you will be responsible for some design work, the majority of efforts will be focused on getting external resources to deliver high-quality assets with your art direction and guidance, along with partner feedback
- Work closely with the Marketing Communications team, located in Vancouver, to access the illustrations and other creative being developed for community and social channel efforts
- Ensure each creative meets licensors' requirements (character standards, social/platform restrictions) as well as platform requirements (Google, Apple, Steam, Epic)
- Lead the efforts to improve our game’s brand presence and performance on STEAM and EPIC and provide the winning strategy for driving engagement with the PC audience
- Act as liaison with studio art director members to ensure we are prepared for beta launches and game updates. Work to develop strong alliances with art teams, work on game models, etc., to align and understand game art style, tone, creative mandatories, etc.
- Remain current with the latest graphic UA trends for mobile and PC advertising
- Understand KPI performance metrics and how these drive creative decisions
- Work with Creative Strategist and ASO managers to evaluate A/B testing results and develop action plans for creative variants
Your background includes:
- Game industry experience and passion for games is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent work experience accepted
- 5-6 years of combined professional experience working in creative services team or ad agency and directly as a professional graphic designer on an advertising acquisition art team
- Must be willing to travel and have a current passport for travel to Canada
- High-level client management and interaction skills
- Comfortable in a hybrid workplace, flex between our San Francisco office and working from home
- Knowledge of the Adobe Suite of products, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong sense of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy
- Digital Sketching and storyboarding skills are not required, but the ability to manage artists is required

For candidates located in California, the salary range for this position is $110,400 to $165,600. The salary of the successful candidate will vary within this range based on their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
