As a Principal Level Scripter on Squadron 42 you will be working as part of a larger Design team to help create and implement cutting edge gameplay within a meticulously crafted, single-player cinematic adventure. Develop and implement mission logic best practices, setting and upholding new standards for other team members to follow within our proprietary engine. Spearhead strike teams to tackle critical areas of the game based on Game Director feedback and help push the overall quality of our single player campaign. Utilise our different engine and visual scripting tools to bring gameplay sequences, AI behaviours, combat encounters and puzzles to life. Work alongside engineers and our technical design team to develop new tools and pipelines that will aid level design to achieve their goals more effectively and efficiently. Drive design discussions and assist in solving various design challenges that strive for quality above all else. Support and mentor other members of the Level Design team, teaching better workflows, design philosophies and maintaining a positive attitude. What do we expect from a Principal Level Scripter? Experience in shipping multiple AAA titles, including working knowledge of what it takes to bring a level to a shippable standard. Professional experience working with visual scripting in modern game engines (such as Unreal Engine 4/5, CryEngine or Unity). Exceptional understanding of Mission Design and the ability to create robust logic that withstands destructive testing. The ability to drive a group of Designers toward achieving large scale deadlines, supporting other members of the team to reach their goals in addition to their own. Highly pro-active, with a desire to better our tools and pipelines, actively seeking solutions and working with engineers to developing tech improvements that will benefit everyone. Ability to easily work with others in a friendly and positive environment, communicating vision between departments and the ability to give/receive feedback willingly.
