As Principal Artist for our Acadia studio, you will be at the forefront of the development of our flagship game, Transformers: Forged to Fight, and one of our unannounced games currently in development. Your daily interactions with producers, designers, programmers, and other artists will enable you to sustainably create and release phenomenal game content.
You are highly creative and skilled and enjoy wearing different hats as an artist. You thrive on receiving and giving constructive critique, sharing knowledge, and bringing something new to every project.

We know that one size doesn’t fit all - every team has the flexibility to find the right balance between in-office, remote, and hybrid in-office/remote. This role is open to being fully remote in the Maritime provinces (PE, NL, NB, and NS), and we support the basic setups for our employees.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Sculpt stylized characters, environments, and props that are both visually striking and organically correct
- Produce fantastic and interesting concept designs for various facets of world creation, including character design, vehicles, props, environment, etc.
- Create lighting, composition, and mood color studies
- Create solid illustrations and renders of game elements to serve as guides to 3D Artists, inspirational guides, or for marketing purposes. e.g., turnarounds, orthographic renders, material guides, etc.
- Drive overall visual quality and best practices across all areas of ownership
- Collaborate and iterate with a passionate in-house team crafting games for mobile and tablet devices
- Grow your skills and experience and share those with other artists
- Be a foundational art leader within our Acadia studio who helps onboard and grow new or junior talent
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
- 6+ years of concept design/visual development experience in video games
- Experience with modeling, animation, and visual effects
- Ability to work on hard surface, industrial, and organic subject matter
- Ability to work with a broad range of subjects and aesthetic styles
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Maya, and Zbrush. Other 3D programs are a plus!
- Strong understanding of texturing techniques within Substance Painter
- Working knowledge of Unity
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong passion for gaming, especially in the mobile space
- Experience in a production environment
To take it up a notch, you will also have:
- Experience with Perforce, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and the Google Workspace
- Experience with agile development and workflows
- Experience collaborating with external vendors or outsourcing
- Experience with graphic or marketing design

Compensation band: $91,400 - $152,400 base salary.
