As a Player Connections Snr Planner, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing strategic media frameworks (paid|owned) that effectively reach and engage our current and future players. These strategies will be grounded in the behaviour of our audiences and the external dynamics of our highly competitive industry
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Marketing, Player Insights, Growth, Creative Services, Demand Generation and the global media agency, to name a few.
Your role will involve conducting player research, analysing data, and providing insights to drive media strategies that align with both the marketing & commercial objectives.
This role will ensure effective implementation of media campaigns over the lifecycle of a title, and oversee any inflight changes in the media (paid|owned). Player journey team is very engaged in reporting and analysis of marketing efforts to draw insight and take action.
What We Need:
2K is looking for a passionate and self-motivated Connections Snr Planner to work alongside the Player Connections Director, and the rest of the in-house media & marketing team. The role will have a number of key focuses:
The Media team is a critical resource for Marketing planning, execution, and reporting of global campaigns. The role and function of the team is inherently collaborative and the team is deliberately spread out between key Marketing offices in European and US offices to facilitate this.
We are looking for a candidate that has excellent media planning and strategy credentials. We require an individual that has excellent knowledge of the media industry, across various markets, as well as the skills to develop cross media strategies and plans
This is also a management role. This person will be responsible for managing junior team members, ensuring they are highly focussed on delivering analytics and strategic planning to the highest standard. The outputs of this team will be designing the allocations of multi-million dollar media campaigns , and the Manager will be approving and presenting these approaches to the wider business to get executive approval.
This person should have excellent presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting complex analytical projects to senior executives, in a clear and engaging way.
This is a highly collaborative role – working with different functions around the business to clearly understand and influence marketing campaign KPIs, budgets, approaches and media goals across all titles. This person will be consulting with all cross functional specialists (biddable, influencer, PR, social etc) on how to improve their measures of success from a technical perspective and pivot efforts in reaction to commercial performance of a title once it launches.
This person will be responsible for signing off on tactical proposals grounded in data made by the team. This involves the analytics of multiple data sets (commercial performance, off and online performance data, customer insights & trends) to deliver clear recommendations to pivot spend on a global basis.
What You Will Do:
- Work with customers across the business (primarily the Global Marketing, Commercial and Cross functional media specialists) to distil insights using various marketing data points and communicate them in the form of actionable recommendations.
- Work with the Director of Media to drive the long term vision of the team and prioritse efforts of direct reports on projects that contribute to this.
- Work closely with Senior stakeholders from our global media agency, to sign off on best in class full year media strategies for the launch of new titles. Ensure paid media efforts are focussed on innovation and constantly measuring effectiveness of our efforts
- Present to the wider business holistic Paid Media strategies, campaign strategies, campaign reviews, and commercial reviews
- Ensure the team are highly trained in media planning & analysis capabilities
Collaboration and Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and senior management, so as to understand marketing and commercial goals, target audiences and industry dynamics
- Build and maintain relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on media strategies.
- lead in presentations to provide media expertise and strategic recommendations.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify target audience behaviours, media consumption habits, and market trends.
- Analyse data from various sources to inform media planning decisions and optimise campaign performance.
Media Strategy Development:
- Develop comprehensive media frameworks that effectively reach the target audience and align with the marketing & commercial objectives.
- Determine the most suitable media channels, platforms, and tactics for campaign implementation.
- Ensure media strategies are innovative, data-driven, and aligned with industry best practices.
- develop the learning agenda for media campaigns, and reinforce a continuous learning environment
Campaign Execution and Optimization:
- lead the development of Scenario plans for media campaigns
- Collaborate with media buyers to optimise media investment and ensure campaigns are executed effectively
- Monitor campaign performance, analyse data, and provide insights and recommendations for ongoing optimization.
- Stay up to date with emerging media trends, technologies, and industry developments to incorporate into media strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and integrated media strategies.
- Work closely with Senior stakeholders from our global media agency,
- Collaborate with the creative / social teams, to align messaging and creative concepts with media plans.
Team Management and Development:
- Develop the Player Connection Analyst(s),, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Set goals, provide guidance, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
- Develop and enhance team members' skills through training and professional development opportunities.

- 6+ years of experience in a media planning/strategy role. Agency experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience in 1 st Party marketing (sony/xbox) would be beneficial
- Proven analytical skills; ability to analyse raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
- Proven Management experience
- Comfortable working with Senior Executives
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to distil complex strategies down to accessible concepts and communicate them to executives.
