People Experience Specialist

SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. Our projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite, projects in the Minecraft Universe, supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena, supporting development of Fallout 76, and developing unannounced titles including partner projects and internal IP. As one of Vancouver’s fastest-growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 200+ engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.

SkyBox Labs is looking for a People Experience Specialist, who loves communication and community, to help champion our culture and cultivate more shared experiences.
Reporting into the People and Culture team, this role will also work closely with Marketing for communication related projects.
Responsibilities
- Support studio culture through planning and running in-person and virtual events, from small scale weekly Fri-Yay afternoons to studio-wide BBQs and Christmas parties
- Assist in the creation, promotion, and distribution of internal communication through videos, internal newsletters, and mail-outs
- Participate in content creation for both internal and external communication channels and social media
- Collaborate with the Social Committee to generate and execute on innovative ideas for social engagement within the studio
- Be an active and inclusive member of SkyBox's Operations team and work collaboratively with People and Culture, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Facilities, and our game teams
Qualifications
- 3+ years in project and event management with proven experience as a detail-oriented planner and has organized/executed on successful events (big and small!)
- Communication expertise - you are a communication aficionado, who understands internal and external communication and marketing strategies
- A customer service mindset - you know how to create a true experience for others, and are always looking for ways to wow those around them
- Tech savvy - experience and comfort navigating through a variety of technologies and tools for event planning and content creation such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premier; After Effects), Canva, , MS Office Suite, and more
- Administrative and coordination skills - including strong multitasking, prioritization, and not afraid to get your hands dirty
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with content creation and social media marketing
- Skills in copywriting or creative writing
- A driver’s license and personal vehicle
- A passion for games!
This is primarily an on-site position working from our studio in Burnaby, BC.

Work During COVID-19
In order to keep our employees, candidates and community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of our teams are working from home within Canada, with plans to a return in a hybrid capacity later in 2022. All interviewing, onboarding, and most work will take place remotely for the foreseeable future.
