Reporting to the Global Director of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and conduct semi-annual payroll audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer payroll for multiple US Gearbox Studios
  • Ensure that employee payroll is processed accurately and timely.
  • Work with HR team to ensure that all changes are reflected in the HRIS
  • Process and validate changes in salary, bonus, title, manager, etc.
  • Ensure benefits deductions are accurate with proper effective dating
  • Support team members to ensure that all employee/payroll records are correct, and inquiries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Enter and Maintain garnishment withholding orders within HRIS, including communication with employee and requestor as needed
  • Process garnishments through payroll accurately, including additional bonus payments as required by court order
  • Execute time and attendance processing for multiple pay periods and pay runs
  • Review payroll reports and timesheets for correctness before completing payroll transactions.
  • Maintain all payroll records, including conducting required control audits of processes and supporting documentation
  • Assist in payroll banking transactions, stop payments, manual check requests, and other funding tasks.
  • Ensure that payroll processes are aligned to follow all financial controls and in compliance with federal and state laws
  • Ensure that timely reporting and accounting entries are available for review and auditing
  • Partner with both HR/Accounting teams to refine processes, ensuring accuracy of the payments
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll taxation: registration, processing, filing and reconciliations
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting and when necessary, W-2 corrections
  • Run reports related to payroll and tax functions
  • Research and resolve payroll related problems or questions by collecting and analyzing data
  • Manage tax notifications, updates, and communications to payroll providers Tax Services Team
  • Work with Tax Services Team to file Federal, State and local taxes with the appropriate tax authority based on the agencies filing requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of payroll processing experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with electronic payroll processing systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits understanding of company benefits such as 401(k)s, insurance, paid leave, and other voluntary deductions.
  • Working knowledge of wage & hours laws
  • Possesses knowledge of basic principles of accounting.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
