Role Purpose
This is a key role within the Finance function, running end to end Payroll process, to strict deadlines. The role reports into the Financial Controller but the post holder will liaise across all departments and sites to collate information accurately and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies ie HMRC, Pensions as well as company policies. This role is key to the transition to inhouse and implementation of a new payroll system, improve processes to meet growth strategy of the business. It is critical that the post holder has the flexibility to be hands-on and organised to meet internal payroll cycle deadlines as well as all statutory filing requirements.
Requirements
- Full responsibility for preparation, approval, and processing of monthly payroll in accordance with payroll timetable to strict deadlines
- Support the FC with the transition to inhouse payroll, migration of data, fully documented end to end payroll process
- Liaise closely with HR to ensure timely updating of records to meet contractual and statutory obligations including NMW, SSP, SMP, etc
- Liaise with all HoDs to ensure starters, leavers, timesheets, overtime, absence, sickness is updated on a regular basis in line with company policies
- Manage Holiday pay calculations and accruals
- Generate data uploads from HR and Time & Attendance systems, verify accuracy and completeness of data for input to Payroll
- Execute monthly payroll, circulate for approval and run payslips, reports, etc
- Monthly filings for HMRC, Pensions and timely payments to all third parties
- Administer Auto Enrolment as well as reconcile balances with Pension providers
- Generate Payroll Bacs in time for payday
- Reconcile Payroll related accounts with the Accounting System
- Other HMRC annual filings eg P11D’s, P60’s, PSA information is collated and updated regularly
- To produce monthly reports and ad hoc reports as required.
- Analyse and report on payroll data as appropriate.
- Sole responsibility for Payroll mailbox
- Be the face of payroll across the business to support colleagues with any queries
- General day to day administration of payroll related accounting and employee records
