Gearbox Publishing Amsterdam is looking for an experienced and ambitious PR/Event Manager EMEA to join our growing EMEA marcomms team. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience in a similar role and has a background both on a territory and European level. This role will focus on bringing new game releases to market and supporting existing live service games.
As the PR/Event Manager EMEA, this person will be responsible for the strategic and tactical rollout of the communications in the EMEA region for all our games.
He/She/They understand(s) the importance of good relationships, knows all the ins and outs of the ever-changing media landscape and also has a deep understanding of the analytics and can determine how to use metrics to optimize campaigns and demonstrate ROI.
Strong interpersonal skills are required as the role will closely work with stakeholders across Communications, Community Management, Influencer Management, Social Media and Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DUTIES
- Develop and manage communication and PR programs for multiple game titles in close collaboration with our PR agency and the rest of the Marcomm team
- Identify opportunities for the most relevant key media outlets and agencies
- Create, develop and guard consistency for the Gearbox tone of voice within all communication and PR materials
- Set up and identify media coverage opportunities for company- and game announcements
- Identify and organize relevant internal and external events and trade shows which are important on a strategic level for our release timeline
- Provide relevant KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of our communications, and provide insights and regular updates to senior leadership.
- Stay on top of the latest gaming news and trends in Europe and leverage that knowledge to enhance PR programs.
- Provide strategic and tactical planning for editorial opportunities, including the rollout, timing and planning of previews, interviews, features and reviews
- Help develop and prioritize a list of key media in EMEA and make sure Gearbox and it’s releases are top of mind in the years to come
- Establish a working relationship with the PR teams in the US in work together to strategically create Global PR campaigns which fit the EMEA market and ensure that the PR efforts are coordinated, integrated and aligned
- Take the lead in aforementioned EMEA PR efforts, together with the Head of Comms and other Amsterdam stakeholders.
- Become a key member of the to-be-formed Amsterdam marcomms team and ensure PR is aligned with other parts of the marketing wheel, including social media, content creators and influencers.
- Represent Gearbox Publishing Amsterdam at relevant media and consumer events in Europe, including Gamescom, Paris Games Week, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 4 years in a similar role
- Able to develop PR campaigns on a strategic and tactical level, focusing on impact on every beat
- Excellent interpersonal-, writing- and communications skills as well as flawless editing skills with an attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, additional European Languages such as German and/or French
- Strategic management skills with the ability to efficiently handle and manage the tactics of multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to successful completion
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Willing to jump into a growing organization and be a part of its future DNA
- Ability to work independently and also be a valuable, fun and awesome addition to the team
LOCATION AND WORKING HOURS
- The PR/ Event Manager EMEA is a full-time hybrid position (40 hours per week), working from home and in our Amsterdam office.
