Your Mission
As an Outsource Supervisor, Rigging you will work on maintaining the vision set forth by the art leads and art director as it relates to outsourcing skinning assets for World of Warcraft. Including characters, creatures, mounts, saddles, armor, and prop assets.
The ideal candidate is experienced in creating and giving feedback on game art (both organic and mechanical) for skinning and secondary animation setups. You will also have a solid grasp of art fundamentals.
Remote eligible:
“This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA or Boston, MA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.”
What you bring to the table:
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Drive outsource development by scheduling and tracking incoming/outgoing assets.
- Manage communications and provide feedback to artists and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams
- Generate detailed documentation, visual reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors
- Own the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to the vendor to deliver quality assets to the development team
- Create skinned assets that fit within the World of Warcraft style
- Communicate with art directors, art leads, production, design, and other departments
- Collaborate closely with visual development/concept artists
Minimum Requirements
- Some experience in game development creating or outsourcing skinned art (organic and mechanical) assets
- Understand real-time game development needs
- Experience working with outsourcing
- Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the World of Warcraft style
- Software experience such as 3ds Max or Maya
- Able to create documentation, videos, and imagery to teach our outsourcing partners
Extra Points
- Ability to write code in Python, lua, or C++
- Enthusiasm for working closely with other artists
- Experience with creating and maintaining secondary animation setups

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
