Strategy & Operations Lead
Improbable believes in a future where new, virtual worlds will augment human experience and become as meaningful, lasting and rich as the physical world. We call this the Multiversal Self.
Our platform, SpatialOS, lets developers transcend the limits of regular computation, allowing swarms of servers running in the cloud to cooperate in order to simulate worlds far larger and more complex than any single server could.
At Improbable, you are surrounded by people who want to improve everything and everyone around them, and who compel you to improve yourself. We’re motivated by the fulfilment of solving hard problems to achieve something profound and transformative.
Your Mission
As the Strategy & Operations Lead, you will be an individual contributor empowered to work directly with our executives, business unit leadership and any embedded operations teams to ensure that meaningful measures of operational performance are defined, tracked and reported on. You will be a part of the Strategy & Operations team and trusted to drive and inform the understanding of the biggest operational challenges impacting our company’s progress and your work will have a large impact on the prioritisation of the executive team focus as well as the effectiveness of the day to day operations of the company.
Areas for Impact
First and foremost, your focus will be on identifying issues and you’ll be subsequently trusted to conduct a root cause analysis to ensure that the resulting recommendations lead to a sustainable solution. Although you will not be responsible for independently delivering a solution, you will have a key role in shaping and supporting the solutions to inter-business unit operational issues and ensuring they are fit for purpose.
We expect you to collaborate across the business and develop close relationships with employees at all levels (incl. executives) across engineering, product, commercial, our 1st party games studios, finance, people and talent.
We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following
- A passion and enthusiasm for games and / or the gaming industry.
- Strong analytical skills, with proven ability to identify and implement cross-functional process improvements (ideally in companies with multiple office locations).
- Ability to define meaningful operational performance metrics and set goals, to inform leadership decision making.
- Demonstrable project management skills - tested by managing projects end-to-end (from conception through to implementation and post implementation assessment)
- Lateral influencer with excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), able to present problems, fact-based assessments of their causes and solution plans in a clear and concise manner.
While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply!!
