Job Title: Release Manager III
Job Summary: The Pokémon Company International is looking to hire a Release Manager who is passionate about providing amazing experiences for our fans and who wants to be part of a growing Availability Team that works with Development teams, Quality Engineering, InfoSec, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability of highly utilized online services. This key role within the DevOps team needs an experienced and talented individual with a diverse set of skills and abilities who will focus on Release Management duties, ensure we operate highly available services through the implementation of repeatable processes, identify and remediate single points of failure, provide clear visibility into upcoming changes and their contents, and generally “unquagmire’ quagmires while keeping a level head. This role will be instrumental in helping to define our operational standards for reliability and observability.

What you’ll do
- Work with engineers within the DevOps group to define operational quality standards around releases, patching and upgrades, software design patterns, observability, and other factors that contribute to availability
- Negotiate, plan, schedule, coordinate and facilitate software releases; manage risks; and resolve issues related to release plans and implementation
- Facilitate Release Readiness reviews, Go/No-Go decisions, Release Retrospectives and Postmortems, and ongoing service operational quality discussions
- Ensure timely communication of upcoming releases and engineering requirements with stakeholder consumable descriptions
- Oversee the status and progression of code in development, staging, beta, and production environments
- Ensure quality releases by reviewing code submissions, deployment plans, architecture, and test cases
- Working with the data platform team, extract and analyze availability data on a regular cadence for all stakeholders
- Maintain and champion a comprehensive calendar including releases, peak traffic periods, and component upgrade deadlines to aid in cross-team and cross-org communication
- Implement scalable processes to accommodate variable release size and complexity
- Maintain documentation and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
- Constantly look for areas of improvement in availability-related processes across the Technology Organization
- Maintain awareness of all team projects and major initiatives/goals
What you’ll bring
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of related professional experience.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience with helping to define organizational processes and/or standards
- Experience working in Agile Scrum software development environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical speakers
- Experience generating reports with tools such as Tableau/PowerBI that utilize SQL
- Scripting/tools experience preferred
- Experience with SCM tools (such as Git, Perforce)
- Obsession with process evolution, while being grounded enough to respect constraints
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent problem solving skills

- Base salary range: $125,000.00 - $187,000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. It is common for TPCi to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates qualifications and experience uniquely.
