Office Manager

Making video games is a messy business. Luckily, there's you!

You like video games. You LOVE organization...being organized....and organizing. Crayolas sorted by color? Love it. You're always on the lookout for little improvements. Cord control. Universal remotes. Hanging shelving. Trash cans on wheels. Are you thinking of a million other tricks you have up your sleeve?

Demiurge Studios is a privately-held video game developer based in Cambridge, MA. Creating games is our passion and we bring years of expertise to our projects. The teams at Demiurge build fun, accessible games like our hit, Marvel Puzzle Quest. We also provide co-development services to larger, best-in-industry game companies. In that capacity, Demiurge has contributed to titles such as Bioshock, Rock Band, and Mass Effect.

Who? What? When? Where? Why?

• What's The Job? -- Office Manager at a video game company! This is a full time salaried position with benefits. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without restriction.
• Why do we need you? -- We're a bunch of creative folks going at 100 miles an hour. We need someone to help keep this race car on the track!
• Where is the office? -- We are located a couple of blocks from the Central Square T stop on the red line.

Social & Culture Responsibilities:

• Proactively improve our creative, energetic workplace atmosphere.
• Organize company parties - keep the vegans AND the meat-eaters happy.
• Party at the company parties.
• Buy birthday cakes, light small fires, hold a tune.
• Order food for lunch meetings or other events. We are so hungry.
• Support HR to ensure smooth on-boarding of new employees.

Office Space Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct visitors as needed. Door getting, package signing, mail receiving.
• Answer the phone’s main line and politely tell the salesperson/recruiter that we don’t need their help. This will happen. A lot.
• Keep supplies stocked.
• Keep the office tidy (we have a cleaning service who you’ll coordinate with).
• Coordinate with building management and the various people that come in to fix our flaky air conditioning.
• Creative office beautification and improvement, e.g. hang posters, paint walls, arrange furniture.
• Coordinate with studio leadership on seating and furniture layout
• Biweekly refrigerator purge and daily dishwasher emptying. Everything else sounds like fun, right?
• Document and publish standard procedures. Yes. It seems we do need to have every little thing spelled out in short sentences.

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience as an Office Manager.
• Document editing skills using Word, Excel, Google Docs, & Google Sheets
• Familiar with Mac or Windows operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds. We love rearranging the office.
• Preference to applicants with secret superpowers: marketing genius, HR experience, IT professional and/or a degree in underwater basket weaving. Tell us about it!
