Network Security Engineer

As a Network Security (NetSec) Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of the IllFonic IT Core Services Infrastructure (CSI). The role requires the ability to interface professionally with peers, in addition to managing the IT infrastructure. The job requires infrequent travel to our branch locations and demo/conference locations globally. Additionally, your unique ability to translate complex issues into easy to understand summaries is highly desired.

Founded in 2007, IllFonic is an independent video game developer and publisher with studios in Lakewood, Colorado, Tacoma, Washington, and Austin, Texas. Our staff is composed of video game, music, and technology veterans redefining how indie and middle-market games are made and marketed. Past titles and collaborations include Arcadegeddon, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Friday the 13th: The Game, Dead Alliance, Star Citizen, Evolve, Armored Warfare, and Nexuiz.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a pristine working environment and office location
- Perform vulnerability assessments, prepare reports for and mitigate findings
- Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and performance bottlenecks
- Configure hardware and software on new and existing network hardware
- Manage inventory of software licenses and hardware assets for Cyber-Net equipment
- Respond to end user requests; quickly identify research and resolve issues
- Be available off hours for scheduled maintenance, critical update releases
- Monitor for zero-day exploits and coordinate upgrading infrastructure accordingly
- Document standard operating procedures, one-off installations, and end user training
- Assist in the development and practice of security training for employees
- Take the initiative to identify, prioritize, call-out, and suggest solutions to problems as they are identified
- Regularly playtest builds and provide professional feedback to the team on how to improve our games
- Share your thoughts about how to make the company a better place to work, improve the creative process, and help deliver better games
Requirements
- Highschool degree or GED
- Minimum of 4 years industry experience
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policies
- Experience with Linux (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL/Amazon Linux)
- Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTPS)
- Experience with network hardware
- Experience with VLAN management, deployment and maintenance
- Understanding/experience with VMware/virtualization
- Vendor communication (e.g. Cisco, Autodesk)
- Software administration of internal tools (Perforce, JIRA)
- Strict use of code names and complete confidentiality of project information for as long as its required
- One day on-site weekly at the Lakewood office, required
Bonus
- Familiar with studio software, such as: Perforce, Tenable, Visual Studio, Photoshop, Maya
- Experience with Cisco hardware
- Industry certifications (Comptia, Net+, Sec+, etc.)
