Narrative and Creative Research Coordinator (Universes Beyond)

As a Narrative and Research Creative Coordinator for Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond's creative organization, you'll be responsible for supporting the needs of our Art Directors, Narrative Designers, Managers, and Producers through researching, scheduling, task management, documentation and more. You'll become a core member of the team that crafts the worldbuilding vision and execution of unique art for upcoming Magic sets, built upon fan-favorite IPs like Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Warhammer 40k, and more!
The Magic trading card game is home to some of the world’s best fantasy artwork. With Universe Beyond, we get to reinvent many of the most beloved characters and fantasy worlds across the entire entertainment industry, working in partnership with premier IP brands. What You'll Do:
The day-to-day responsibilities will range from researching and data collecting, coordinating tasks, and organizing subject matter experts for various initiatives across projects.
- Conduct research for various IPs. Everything from deep dives into lore, to collecting images for art reference, to compiling quote libraries for Creative Text.
- Coordinating and organizing our internal/external Subject Matter Experts for set specific IP needs.
- Owning the week-to-week process, goals, and schedules for our Creative Text development, alongside the Narrative Set Lead. Tasks include setting deadlines and following up with external contractors on deliverables.
- Work with Product Insights on sourcing IP Subject Matter Experts, updating IP research surveys, and collaborating with the Creative Team on testing needs.
What You’ll Bring:
- 1+ years experience with creative research (e.g. scripts, screenplays, comics, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with research across a variety of mediums; comics, books, games, TV, film, etc.
- A strong eye towards detail, paired with meticulous organization and time-management skills.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- An outstanding balance between flexibility, forward-thinking mentality, and a strong orientation towards process.
- Clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Excited to work in a diverse, multifaceted, and creative environment.
Nice to Have:
- Passion for pop culture IPs.
- Knowledge of various types of data analysis and organization techniques.

$67,440 — $118,440 USD
