Narrative Writer II - Creative Department, IP Guidelines

Narrative Writers at Riot understand how to write for specific audiences and wield a range of voices and tones, from playful to professional and serious. You endeavor to communicate with a balance of transparency and clarity that's thoughtful, well-crafted, and authentic. You are artful with nuance and offer creative solutions in ambiguous spaces.

The IP Guidelines team helps Riot develop its intellectual property by enshrining its characters and environments in style and product guides. We're responsible for creating the style guides used across all of our IP expressions--games, comics, stories, animations, merchandise, and more. We're a team of creatives who believe in the power of consistent, believable worldbuilding to support incredible storytelling, and we love building bridges between all the teams telling those stories at Riot.

Responsibilities:

• Implement several product-specific writing goals into style and product guides within a deadline.
• Work with artists, designers, stakeholders and product owners to create high impact and educational internal resource materials.
• Write, edit, and update IP-specific narrative and visual style guides on a regular cadence.
• Embody Riot’s cultural values in interpersonal interactions and the production of narrative writing

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional industry experience in games or related entertainment media
• Experience in writing style guides and/or product guides, or general technical/educational writing.
• Experience working in agile team environments, and giving/receiving clear and applicable feedback

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the League of Legends IP, and Riot’s portfolio of games.
