Microservices Engineer

As a Microservices Engineer based in our Austin studio, you will be working with a team of other engineers to create and maintain backend software solutions that assist with the release and development of our software. These projects are often crucial to our CI/CD pipeline at the company. The best candidates will have knowledge in domain driven design, microservices, event sourcing, containerization, and orchestration.

What does a Microservices Engineer at CIG do?

• Develop and maintain scalable microservices which developers will use to interact with and understand the release pipeline
• Work closely with Lead Engineer on managing deployments and maintaining test specs
• Monitor production environment and debug/maintain as needed
• Document systems and processes
• Help track performance and reliability of our services

What software language proficiencies do we expect from our Microservices Engineer?

• Scala preferred
• Java
• Python
• Go
• Shell scripting (*nix and Windows)

What technology proficiencies do we expect from our Microservices Engineer?

• Perforce, Gitlab, and other VCS systems
• Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Microservice frameworks (Akka, Play, Springboot)
• Kafka
• Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, and other cloud providers
• UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms
• Databases (Mongo, SQL, Redis, Cassandra)
