We’re Playdead, an independent game company based in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark. We have made two critically acclaimed titles, LIMBO and INSIDE. Our current project is a 3rd-person science fiction adventure set in a remote corner of the universe.
Job Description
We are seeking an outstanding mechanical designer/concept artist to join our team in Copenhagen. You will be responsible for supplying the asset team with a high volume of detailed concepts describing the various spaces and technological props that will appear in our realistic sci-fi world.
You should be willing to work at the Playdead office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
What will you be doing?
- Communicating regularly with the art leads and asset team regarding the concept work needed and how it relates to game design and story
- Creating highly detailed concept art to be used by level and asset artists
Required skills & experience
- A portfolio of work demonstrating mastery of realistic, finely detailed concepts of props and spaces
- A talent for thoughtful composition and clean design which is compatible with our vision for the game
- Ability to design very believable and mechanically sound devices, vehicles and structures
- Ability to create quality concept art within the framework of gameplay and story
- Ability to take direction, collaborate with other developers, and give/receive constructive feedback
Also appreciated
- Professional experience within 3D game production
- Solid base of knowledge and passion for the fields architecture, industrial design and engineering
