The goal at XR Games is to be the best developer of VR titles in the world.
We are a multi award-winning game development studio that specialises in immersive VR games. The studio has a history of full-scale development from concept through to submission, working with prestigious partners such as Sony Pictures VR, Meta, and Rovio Entertainment.
Since 2020 our team has grown from 20 full-time members to almost 100 by the close of 2022, due to the success and critical acclaim of our previous projects such as Zombieland: Headshot Fever and The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure.
Throughout 2023 & 2024 our team will be working on multiple major projects with recognisable IPs and licences as we continue to grow and invest in our future.
The Role
This is an exciting role which will play a huge part in how we market the studio to players, future employees, investors and collaborators! We need somebody who is an experienced marketer and a creative at heart who can showcase XR Games and its games to the world.
Person Specification
[Top Priority] - Writing Ability
When it comes to skills and experience, the ability to write in a number of different formats for different audiences is our top priority. In this role you will be responsible for writing original articles, posts, editorials and press releases on a number of different topics in order to promote XR Games as a brand and employer. You’ll also be working to promote the games we are due to release over the coming years, so combining attention to detail and an ability to write compelling copy are hugely important to us.
[Secondary Priority] - Videography & Photography
Shooting and editing video content is going to be another important part of this role.
This could be promotional footage for the studio, our games, coverage of events or even educational content for XR Futures . Your ability to be able to plan, produce and edit video content that can be used for a variety of different purposes, formats and audiences is important to this role and we will want to see examples of your work here.
Additional Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day running of social channels, working with the Head of Marketing to create exciting posts that stay on trend with the wider games industry
- Leading on all community communications places like Discord and Reddit
- Contributing to social media calendars, ensuring they are always up-to-date; planning ahead for larger content drops and filling quieter periods with exciting projects
- Graphic design and video editing using Adobe suite of tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc
- Carry out industry research to generate content ideas
- Analysing metrics and generating insights for sales reports and other documentation
- Attend and cover industry events such as Gamescom, Develop: Brighton and others
Tech Skills?
- Adobe suite - Premier Pro / Audition / Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
- Wix or other CMS platforms
- Google suite
- Analytics dashboards
For this role to be successful, it will most likely require the person to have a regular presence in the studio every week. Hybrid working is standard, and we will assist financially with relocation for those looking to do so, but remote working is not possible for this role.
