Marketing Manager, PRELOADED

PRELOADED is seeking a Marketing Manager to own and grow our marketing activities across paid, earned and owned channels. We are looking for a talented and creative brand marketer, who can take ownership over our positioning and deliver measurable engagement. The ideal candidate would be a real self-starter, passionate about play, games, learning, emerging technologies, and a natural communicator.
As our Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the short and long-term marketing and comms activities of the studio – helping devise tactics that align to our strategy, executing our pillar campaigns, managing marketing spend, and writing case studies, articles, and social posts. You will have freedom to ‘test and learn’ new creative options, whilst also being metric-minded to ensure we know what success looks like. You will work closely with the Strategy and BD team to engage our clients, both existing and new, and raise our profile within the sector.

This role will involve collaboration with a team of hybrid, and fully remote individuals, so flexibility for travel to our London studio for a minimum of 2 days per week will be essential.
THE SKILLSET
- At least 3 years of experience in a Marketing function, ideally in the games, or technology industries, with responsibility for external comms and brand management.
- Suggesting and executing tactics that align to strategic goals for our business, with the ability to prove measurable progress towards those goals.
- Exceptional copywriting skills with a desire to deliver impactful content whether in 280 characters or 2800.
- Project manage the creation of wider content-led pieces, collaborating with external partners and internal creative teams to deliver marketing focused projects.
- Nurturing press contacts and supplying suitable content to amplify our major project or partnership announcements through these channels.
- A positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a desire to make a difference through individual performance and team collaboration.
- Collaborate with business leaders, driving forward initiatives and having a significant impact at a business level.
- A proven ability to navigate and self-organise in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL SKILLSET
- Familiarisation / capabilities within the Adobe suite, and the ability to do basic photo and video editing, and follow prescribed templates.
- A solid understanding of reporting and analytics solutions, notably for website SEO performance, social platforms (LinkedIn and Twitter) including paid campaigns, and paid search such as Google Adwords.
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU’LL
- Complete onboarding - our onboarding program is designed to get you up to speed on our business, vision and team and understand how your role fits into the broader company.
- Review previous campaigns, marketing approaches, and content pieces, gaining an insight into our brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Meet and begin your close working relationship with the team, including Strategy Director,and Executive Creative Director.
- Familiarise yourself with our 3 Year Strategy, and 1 Year Goals, marketing budget, and begin to formulate a tactical plan for the rest of the year.
- Establish a regular cadence of check-ins.
- Visit the studio and favourite your top games on the arcade machine!
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU’LL
- Have taken an active interest in the current studio projects, their timelines, and begin to plan a calendar of announcements / case studies / events.
- Run a regular series of Marketing focused meetings, looking at marketing performance, alignment and information to ensure success.
- Align to our pillar campaign strategy, and begin to map out a delivery timeline to make sure these are planned and set up for success.
- Devise and maintain a means to allow regular performance assessment over our marketing activities.
- Manage planned spend against annual department budgets.
- Implement paid promotions across LinkedIn, exploring different methods of advertising and reviewing the efficacy. Also implementing paid Google AdWords.
- Begin to take ownership of some elements of the content creation and approval process.
- Lead on all brand marketing activities.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU’LL
- Have taken on responsibility for regular updates and refinements to all our website content to fine tune our SEO requirements.
- Lead on our pillar campaign amplification aligned with the BD team.
- Oversee the initial stages of a new website design and build, providing valuable SEO and communications experience to inform the design and content approach.
- Support on 2023 Marketing Budget process and business cases, helping us grow our Marketing offering, and utilising data on what works for us.
- Implement initial account-based marketing tactics, focusing messaging to our target customers and their unique needs.
- Have developed a regular cadence of reporting on new innovations and marketing approaches and possibilities that we can make use of.
- Be utilising budgets in a test and learn capacity to try new and innovative solutions.
BEYOND 6 MONTHS, YOU’LL
- Be the primary owner for our external communications and customer touchpoints.
- Be completely immersed in our brand and tone of voice, executing all communications with ease.
- Be proactive with inputting to our content strategy, events diary, and speaking opportunities to maximise our visibility.
