Marketing Director, League of Legends Marketing

Marketing Leadership at Riot transforms strategic objectives into creative campaigns. Marketing Leaders leverage the skills of creative partners (internal and vendors) to produce engaging experiences that players will love.

As the Marketing Director for League of Legends (LoL) , you will report into LoL Leadership. You will lead a cross-functional Marketing team, ensuring successful marketing strategy and execution for all products within the group (League of Legends, Team Fight Tactics, and LoL: Wild Rift), including brand definition, positioning of product releases, tent-pole moments, execution on marquee creative, developing KPIs on all efforts, and collaborating with partner teams to achieve cohesive player experiences (i.e. - K/DA ) across the League ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Create major cultural impact for the League of Legends franchise, leading innovation throughout marketing to delight millions of players around the world and grow the business.
• Recruit diverse and accomplished talent, developing their skills and defining career paths
• Drive business goals established by LoL leadership.
• Be the liaison between LoL and the Publishing organization at Riot
• Ensure successful go-to-market efforts across World-Wide Publishing, including Central and International Publishing
• Strengthen understanding and collaboration between product teams, central and regional publishing teams
• Be a trusted member of the leadership team, advising on product strategy, advocating for the results of marketing strategy & execution, and ensuring team is being held accountable to goals .

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Marketing strategy - knowledge of current tactics and capabilities required to market games worldwide. Track record of generating highly impactful marketing experiences
• Experience leading diverse Marketing teams; ability to inspire reports and manifest growth through influence and by example.
• Understand games-as-a-service or direct-to-consumer business models
• Proven ability to deeply understand an audience and what resonates with them
• Experience deriving insight about the competitive landscape, the marketing/communications environment, and cultural and technology trends. Then use that internal data and market analysis to conduct quantitative/qualitative analysis to ensure we are chasing the right opportunities.
• Experience communicating strategy to content creators and C-Suite members across various disciplines (i.e. - Production, Engineering, Creative)
