Marketing Artist

Job Summary:
As a Marketing Artist in the Square Enix Collective team you will have the opportunity to help shaping the brand identity of our indie games, contribute to multiple projects at the same time and create assets for international campaigns and large events. You will work closely with game developers, creative agencies, community/communication/PR managers and Art Directors in order to define and improve the style of our games and create a wide range of assets to be used on multiple media and platforms such as key art, logos, online and offline advertising, event assets, social media content, etc. You need to be able to work with already existing assets to adopt and improve them to the required quality as well as create brand new assets on multiple assigned projects, all at differing stages of the development cycle. You’ll need to be comfortable with multiple stake holders and feedback rounds and different levels of involvement on each project.
Requirements
Key Deliverables:
- Work hand-in-hand with other members of the Square Enix Collective team in order to deliver art assets at the required time and quality level, targeted for each stage of development.
- Help shaping the brand visual identity and create style guides for internal and external use.
- Create a wide range of art assets from game logos & key art to online and social media content, including but not limited to digital store assets (e.g. Steam), screenshots, press kits, style guides, community & social media, videos, newsletters, websites, etc.
- Work closely with our development partners, various creative & advertising agencies and internal marketing teams to ensure marketing assets are consistent with the game.
- Contribute an active understanding of market trends, patterns and customer requirements in international markets for games.
- Address multiple feedback while bringing solutions and new ideas to the table.
Key Stakeholders:
You will be reporting to the Director of Indie Publishing and will work closely with the Marketing & Brand Manager. Your main stakeholders will be our development partners, other SE Collective team members, internal and external marketing & creative agencies, other external and internal parties.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- A versatile range of art skills from 2D, digital painting, graphic design, etc.
- Traditional art skills like composition, colour theory, etc.
- Proven experience in creating marketing assets for video game (indie or AAA).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be comfortable with changes while proactively bringing solutions and new ideas to the table.
- Being able to adapt to different tasks, from detailed style guides to mass production of simple assets.
- Ability to work autonomously while efficiently incorporate input from the rest of the team.
- Strong passion for video games and understanding of the industry trends.
Competencies, Skills & Attributes
Essential:
- Video editing and motion graphics experience.
- Experience with game engines.
- Be up to date with contemporary style and trends.
- Knowledge of the traditional printing process.
