Manufacturing Engineer

Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for delivering new products to manufacturing along with designing, integrating, or improving manufacturing systems or related processes. The Engineer will have knowledge of ECO’s, Bills of Materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. They will be a complex problem solver with the ability to process information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

What You'll Do

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:

• Delivery of new products to manufacturing

• Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing

• Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes

• Create and implement work instructions to assemble a product

• Investigate or resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks

• Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts

• Define and implement manufacturing process and tools for local production

• Coordinate the realization of PFMEA (Production FMEA)

• Drive improvements to production throughput through optimization of production schedules, process flows / layout, component presentation and engineering specifications

• Support material flow optimization, handling and packaging, transportation; design of carts and material flow equipment

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience as manufacturing engineer

• Experience in New Product Introduction

• Experience in a production environment (Automotive, Industrial Electronics, Consumer goods)

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or relevant field

• Proficient in standard MS office PC/software applications

• Knowledge of dfM/dfA

• Experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Solidworks

• Proficient in PLM systems, such as Teamcenter

• Excellent organizational, leadership skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience in part presentation and material handling equipment design and selection (carts, bins, lifts, tuggers, etc.)

• Knowledge of ergonomic OSHA standards

• Experience in Kanban methodologies as applicable to material flow, replenishment systems.

• Certifications preferred: LEAN, Six Sigma Green Belt, MODAPTs
