Manager, Live Broadcast Production

As a Broadcast Manager for Brazil, you will manage a group of live broadcast producers tasked with producing the broadcasts for Brazil Esports. You will lead and contribute to the story development and execution of Riot’s VCT Americas broadcast as well as League of Legends tournaments throughout the region (CBLOL, Academy, Game Changers), develop the show strategy, as well as shoulder content programming. Within the Brazil region you will collaborate closely with the Production team, Product Team, Broadcast Technology Team and Content Team to create compelling season-long story arcs and weekly narratives that increase audience engagement, retention, and product sentiment, reporting to Americas content services leadership team.

Using your keen understanding of competitive esports, you will manage producers against editorial prioritizations in a fast-paced live environment, while managing and stack ranking elements to create compelling and resonant entertainment experiences for the audiences of Riot’s esports and games.

You will oversee weekly broadcast teams through their asset creation, including teases, interview clips, b-roll, scripting, and graphics. You will delegate ownership of weekly story meetings and help support decisions about what stories the team will tell. You will collaborate closely with our Business Development and Publishing teams to integrate sponsors and features into the broadcast and shoulder content in authentic ways. You will interpret audience data and manage the team to create stories that drive towards our product strategies and business goals.

You will also manage the team on creating content and broadcasts from our Global Events such as the Mid-Season Invitational, World Championship, Masters and Champions to the Brazilian audience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Content Services in Brazil, which includes Live Broadcast, Event Production, Esports Content and Creative Services.
• Develop craft for your staff of producers
• Hire, train and develop Casters, Live Broadcast Producers and Producers
• Lead and direct cross-functional broadcast team members to the success and growth of the show
• Collaborate with on-air Talent to develop storylines for the games and seasonal arcs
• Manage the live production teams and league officials to create a broadcast experience that reflects the highest level of competitive integrity
• Manage the creative service teams to deliver the assets, graphics and designs to support the live broadcast and esports content, focusing on the best viewing experience for the Brazilian players.
• Partner with other internal Riot departments to drive sponsorship and revenue opportunities
• Collaborate with product regional leadership to drive the content and live broadcast.
• Exercise quality control of all aspects of production, video, sound, graphics, observing, and music
• Foster a positive and supportive environment

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in sports and video game production.
• 10+ years of experience in live broadcast production.
• 10+ years of people management experience
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese
• Extensive knowledge of Esports storylines, teams and players.
• Solid leadership skills - experience managing a team in a live production environment.
