Localization Specialist, Spanish (Castilian)

We are looking for a Spanish Localization Specialist to provide language services for ArenaNet products in its working language. Localization Specialist reports directly to the Localization Manager and works closely with internal and external linguistic Editors and Translators to research and resolve language issues. Localization Specialist must be familiar with standard Quality Assurance applications and be a team player to support other members of ArenaNet Studios. Perfect candidate should be able to translate, edit and proofread texts in Spanish (Castilian) language and have a passion for MMORPGs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Ensure the game and all assets meet our AAA quality goals
- Work with Localization Translators, Editors and Localization QA to help them test, polish, and review all game content
- Assist with the development of and maintenance of the Internal and External Bug Databases
- Translate English text into Spanish (Castilian) as needed
- Play and understand the game in English and Spanish
- Coordinate and supervise Localization projects
- Responsible for Guild Wars franchise terminology consistency
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 2+ years of Localization editing experience
- Native Spanish (Castilian) Speaker
- Excellent Spanish (Castilian) spelling and Grammar
- Passion for video games (with an emphasis on MMOs)
- Strong understanding of the user experience
- Possess strong organizational skills with capability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within deadlines
- Leadership skills with professional demeanor; team player orientation
- Hands on, energetic, and motivated
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical abilities
